How to bid on OudBid

1Create your account

You need an account to bid. You create it with your name and your WhatsApp number. There is no password.

  • Open https://oudbid.com/register, or the invitation link you received.
  • Enter your name, choose your country code and enter your WhatsApp number.
  • Tick the box if you would like auction alerts on WhatsApp.
  • Tap Send code via WhatsApp, then enter the 6-digit code we send you.
  • When registration is closed, you can join only through an invitation from the OudBid team.

2Sign in

  • Open https://oudbid.com/login, enter your WhatsApp number and tap Send code via WhatsApp.
  • Enter the 6-digit code. Each code is valid for 15 minutes.
  • No code? Check that WhatsApp works on your phone, then tap Resend code after 60 seconds. You can ask for up to 5 codes an hour.
  • You stay signed in on that device for 45 days after your last visit.
  • Never share a sign-in code with anyone. The OudBid team will never ask you for it.

3Join an auction

Auctions are for their members only.

  • If you are invited, open the invitation link, sign in or create your account, and tap Accept & Join Auction. Use the account with the WhatsApp number or email address the invitation was sent to.
  • Some auctions can be joined with a shared link: open the link and sign in.
  • Invitations expire after 7 days. Contact us if yours has expired.
  • Your auctions are listed on your Dashboard.

4Place a bid

  • Open a lot and check the current highest bid and the minimum you can bid.
  • Your bid must be at least the current bid plus the minimum increment. If nobody has bid yet, it must be at least the starting price.
  • Enter your amount and tap Place Bid. Your bid is placed straight away and cannot be withdrawn or lowered, so check the amount carefully.
  • Prices update live; you do not need to refresh the page.
  • On some lots, a bid in the last minutes extends the closing time. The lot page says when this applies.
  • All times are shown in your device's time zone.

5Alerts

  • WhatsApp: we tell you when you are outbid, when a lot you bid on closes in 60 minutes and you are no longer the highest bidder, when you win, when new lots are added and when you are invited to an auction. If you agreed to WhatsApp alerts, the OudBid team turns them on for your account; your Profile shows whether they are on.
  • Email: if you add an email address, choose outbid, closing-soon and new-lot emails in your Profile under Email Notifications. Emails about lots you win are always sent.
  • On the website: the bell icon shows all your alerts.
  • To stop WhatsApp alerts, open your Profile and tap Stop WhatsApp messages. You will still receive sign-in codes when you ask for them.

6If you win

  • We send you a message on WhatsApp, and an email if you have added one, when the lot closes.
  • The seller contacts you to arrange payment and delivery. Payments are not made on the website.
  • Add your shipping address in your Profile so that your lot can be delivered.
  • My Bids lists every lot you have bid on and whether you won it.
  • Agarwood shipped abroad may need CITES permits and import approval. Check the rules of your country; see our Terms of Service at https://oudbid.com/terms.

7Your Profile

  • Change your display name.
  • See your WhatsApp number and whether alerts are on. To change your number, contact us.
  • Add, change or remove your email address.
  • Add or update your shipping address.
  • Choose email notifications and a light or dark theme.
  • Close your account. See https://oudbid.com/data-deletion for what this removes and what we keep.
